# GO Focus Plus: Geotab's Own AI Dash Cam and How It Coaches in the Cab

GO Focus Plus is the dash cam Geotab builds itself: dual-facing, with on-camera AI for distraction and fatigue, in-cab audio coaching, and events that land in MyGeotab beside the GO device's data without a partner integration. Here's what it detects, how the coaching works, and where it sits against the Marketplace cameras.

## A First-Party Camera

Most cameras on the Geotab platform come from Marketplace partners such as Lytx and Rosco, integrated through the SDK. GO Focus Plus is Geotab's own: designed around the GO device, provisioned from MyGeotab, and reporting its events into the same rules, exceptions and driver scorecards as everything else, with no separate portal. For a fleet that wants one vendor, one login and one support line, that is the reason to choose it.

## What It Detects

The road-facing lens runs forward collision warning, following-distance monitoring and lane-departure detection. The driver-facing lens runs distraction detection — eyes off the road, phone in hand — and fatigue detection from eye closure and head position, plus seat belt use. When an event crosses a threshold the camera speaks: a short audio prompt in the cab, in the driver's language, at the moment of the behaviour, which is the coaching most drivers respond to before a manager ever sees the clip. The clip uploads over LTE within seconds and the event appears in MyGeotab with the GO device's speed and location.

## How Fleets Run It

Events feed the driver's safety score alongside the telematics events. Managers review the week's clips, coach on the few that matter, and use the not-at-fault clips to defend drivers in claims. Privacy controls set whether the driver-facing lens records continuously or only around events, and who can open footage. Fleets often start with road-facing only and enable the cab lens once the policy is agreed with drivers.

## Against the Marketplace Cameras

Lytx Surfsight and Rosco DV6 offer comparable detections and, in some cases, more camera channels or a longer history in specific industries. GO Focus Plus wins on integration depth and single-vendor simplicity; the partners win where a fleet wants multi-camera coverage or a specific feature. High Point GPS installs all three and configures the events to the fleet's safety program across Quebec, Ontario and the northeastern US.

## FAQ

### What is GO Focus Plus?

Geotab's own dual-facing AI dash cam, provisioned from MyGeotab, with on-camera distraction, fatigue, following-distance and collision-warning detection and in-cab audio coaching.

### Does it need a separate portal?

No. Events, clips and settings live in MyGeotab with the GO device's data.

### Does it coach the driver in the cab?

Yes. A short audio prompt plays at the moment of the behaviour, in the driver's language.

### Can the driver-facing lens be limited?

Yes. It can record around events only, and footage access is controlled by role.

### How does it compare with Lytx or Rosco on Geotab?

Similar detections. GO Focus Plus is simpler as a single-vendor setup; the partners offer more channels or specific features for some fleets.
