Installation & Support is for fleets that want their GPS tracking devices fitted and their team trained. On most vehicles the device connects at the diagnostic port through a T-harness, with no antennas and no cut wires. A fleet can do that itself, but we always recommend a professional installer, and High Point GPS's installer partner network handles installation across Canada and the United States, including heavy trucks, older vehicles and hardwired setups. After go-live, you get ongoing training and support from a team that knows the platform, not a generic call centre.

## Highlights

- Plug-in install through a T-harness on most light and medium-duty vehicles
- Professional installer network for heavy trucks and hardwired setups
- Coverage across Canada and the United States
- Onboarding training and ongoing customer support

## What does a GPS tracker install involve?

On most light and medium-duty vehicles with a standard OBD-II or 9-pin diagnostic port, the GPS tracking device connects at the port through a T-harness. There are no antennas to mount and no wires to cut, and the installer confirms the device is reporting in the High Point GPS platform before the vehicle goes back into service. A fleet can do this step itself, but High Point GPS always recommends a professional installer, and installation is included in the service.

## How do heavy-duty and hardwired installs differ?

Older vehicles without a standard OBD-II port, heavy trucks and equipment running the rugged GPS tracking device usually need a hardwired or 3-wire install. These take longer and go better with an experienced technician. High Point GPS's installer network handles them across Canada and the United States and schedules them around your fleet's operating hours, so a vehicle isn't taken out of service during a busy period.

## What support do you get after go-live?

Installation includes onboarding training on the High Point GPS platform for your team, along with the hardware handoff. After go-live, a team that knows the platform handles troubleshooting: device issues, reporting questions and help configuring a new module as your needs grow. You won't sit in a generic support queue while someone looks up what a GPS tracking device is.

## FAQ

### How long does installation take?

It depends on the vehicle, so we do not quote a fixed time. On most vehicles the GPS tracking device connects at the diagnostic port through a T-harness, with no wires cut, and we always recommend a professional installer. Hardwired or heavy-duty installs through our installer network take longer, and we schedule them around your fleet's operating hours so vehicles aren't pulled out of service when you need them.

### Do you install in both Canada and the US?

Yes. High Point GPS supports fleets and coordinates installation across both Canada and the United States. The T-harness install at the diagnostic port works the same way in either country, and our professional installer partner network covers heavy trucks, older vehicles and hardwired setups in both.

### What happens if a device stops working after installation?

Contact High Point GPS support and we'll troubleshoot remotely first. If the device needs replacing, we coordinate the replacement through our installer network to keep downtime to a minimum, and you deal with a team that knows the High Point GPS platform throughout.

### Is training included, or just the physical installation?

Both are included. Installation comes with onboarding training for your team on the High Point GPS platform, and support continues after go-live, so you get more than a one-time setup call. The support team can also help you configure new modules as your needs grow.
