Weigh station map

Enter a city, address or postal code, or use your location, and the map shows weigh stations within 25, 50 or 100 km, closest first, each with a directions link. The locations come from OpenStreetMap; the map does not show whether a station is open.

Search a place in Canada or the United States to see weigh stations nearby.

Data from OpenStreetMap contributors, a community-maintained map. A place can be missing, closed or wrongly tagged, so confirm it before you rely on it. For weigh stations, whether a station is open and bypass programs are not shown. Map tiles © OpenStreetMap.

Why know where the weigh stations are

Knowing where the weigh stations sit on a route helps drivers and dispatchers plan the trip and make sure loads, paperwork and inspections are in order before the truck rolls in. It also helps new drivers who are learning a region. The map gives you the locations; the station's status on the day is posted on the road.

Follow every truck along its route

High Point GPS fleet tracking shows the live location of every vehicle, so dispatch can see who is near a stop or station before calling a driver. Trips, stops, fuel and idle reports are recorded automatically, IFTA distance is split by jurisdiction, and ELD and DVIR compliance runs on the same system.

Tips for weigh station stops

  1. Complete the pre-trip inspection and keep the DVIR on hand before the trip, not at the station.

  2. Check the load's weight and distribution at the shipper when you can.

  3. Keep the registration, permits and logs ready so the stop goes quickly.

  4. Follow the signs on the road: they decide whether a station is open and which vehicles must enter.

Weigh station map questions

Does the map show whether a weigh station is open?
No. The map shows where weigh stations are, based on OpenStreetMap, but not whether a station is open at a given time. Stations open and close during the day, and the signs posted on the road before each one tell drivers whether it is open and which vehicles must enter. Always follow those signs.
Where does the weigh station data come from?
The locations come from OpenStreetMap, a free map maintained by a community of contributors, where places are tagged as weighbridges. Because volunteers edit it, a station can be missing, closed for good or tagged in the wrong place. Use the map for planning and confirm what you see on the road. High Point GPS does not edit this data.
Does the map show bypass programs?
No. The map does not show bypass or pre-clearance programs, or which stations take part in them. Enrolment, transponders and apps are handled by each program and the jurisdictions that use it. Check with the program and your carrier before you count on a bypass, and follow the instructions given on the road and by the device.
What is a weigh station called in Quebec?
In Quebec, the official French term is poste de contrôle routier. These stations check the weight and dimensions of heavy vehicles and can also be used for inspections. When you use the French version of this page, the map labels each one as a poste de contrôle routier, matching the term used in Quebec.
Is the weigh station map free?
Yes. You can search any place in Canada or the United States as often as you like, with no sign-up. Results are sorted by distance, and each one has a link that opens directions in Google Maps. High Point GPS does not store the places you search or the location you share with the map.
