The GO device plugs into a vehicle's OBD-II or 9-pin diagnostic port and reads data directly off the engine control module: location, speed, heading, trip start and stop times, harsh-event data, and engine diagnostics. That data streams over a built-in cellular connection to Geotab's servers, typically refreshing every few seconds while the vehicle is moving, and shows up in MyGeotab within seconds to a couple of minutes.

Each GO device has a unique encrypted ID, and data is transmitted securely to Geotab's cloud infrastructure. Access in MyGeotab is controlled by user roles you define, so drivers, dispatchers, and admins only see what they need to.
