Alberta Files IFTA Through TRACS, and Charges for Both Pieces
Alberta IFTA is administered by Tax and Revenue Administration and filed through TRACS, the province's online tax system. Alberta charges $15 for the annual registration and $10 per set of two decals per qualified vehicle, which puts it among the Canadian jurisdictions that bill for both the licence and the decals rather than only one.
There is also an Alberta-specific rule that has nothing to do with paperwork: a vehicle carrying IFTA credentials, including a farm-plated one, may run only clear fuel. Marked fuel is not permitted in those vehicles, and that is a distinction worth confirming before an audit rather than during one.
