FleetZap Maintenance and Dispatch
FleetZap is High Point GPS's own maintenance software for equipment fleets: work orders, preventive maintenance by engine hours, distance or date, inspections, parts and live location, with Dispatch and Rentals modules.

Updated October 12, 2026
FleetZap is the software High Point GPS builds and runs at fleetzap.com, and it is live today. It is a CMMS for equipment fleets, which means maintenance comes first: the list of machines, the work orders against them, preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, spare parts, and the history and cost of everything done. It understands the things a generic plant CMMS treats as afterthoughts, including engine hours, odometers, telematics, job sites and rentals. GPS is optional and chosen machine by machine: FleetZap works fully manual, with meter readings typed in or logged from the field app, and tracking is a layer you add where it earns its place. A Dispatch module and a Rentals module sit alongside the maintenance core, and Rentals can be switched off in Settings if you do not rent equipment out.
Specs
- What it is
- A CMMS for equipment fleets, covering the maintenance core plus the asset-management pieces fleets use most: sub-assets, location hierarchy, warranties, criticality and lifecycle cost
- Maintenance scheduling
- Each schedule counts one thing: engine hours, kilometres or miles, or days. A machine can carry several at once, and each opens its own work order
- When a work order opens
- A meter schedule opens within 5% of the interval and shows as due soon from 15%; a calendar schedule opens 3 days before the date. Any of them can be opened early by hand
- GPS tracking
- Optional, machine by machine. Untracked machines appear on the map at their set location, marked as not live
- Engine hours
- Read from the machine's own hour meter through the engine computer where one reports it, rather than estimated from ignition time, so it matches the dash
- Data from a tracker
- Position and speed, engine hours, odometer and ignition, plus fuel level, coolant temperature and battery voltage where the machine provides them
- Dispatch module
- Route optimization across drivers, ETAs based on road time, a driver app, a live tracking link emailed to the customer, and proof of delivery
- Rentals module
- Optional, and switched off in Settings if it is not needed
- Field app
- Runs in the phone's browser with nothing to install; scanning a machine's QR label opens everything about it
- Hardware
- Works with a range of GPS trackers and CAN-bus readers, and connects to an existing Geotab, Samsara or Motive account. High Point GPS links each tracker to its machine
- Integrations
- Geotab, Samsara, Motive, Azuga, Verizon Connect, Webfleet, Zonar and QuickBooks
- Setup
- Most teams are working the same day: add the machines or send a spreadsheet, pick intervals from the procedure library, invite the technicians
Highlights
- Maintenance first: work orders, preventive maintenance, inspections, parts, and the cost and history behind each machine
- Schedules that count engine hours, distance or days, several on one machine, each raising its own work order
- Preventive maintenance driven by the machine's real hour meter rather than an estimate from ignition time
- Works with no trackers at all, so a fleet can start manual and add GPS only where it pays
- A Dispatch module that optimizes routes across drivers, gives road-time ETAs and emails the customer a live tracking link
- A field app in the phone's browser, with QR labels on the machines, so technicians install nothing
- Connects to Geotab, Samsara, Motive, Azuga, Verizon Connect, Webfleet, Zonar and QuickBooks
- Built and supported by High Point GPS, in English and French, from Montreal
Frequently asked questions
Do I need GPS trackers to use FleetZap?
No. FleetZap is maintenance software first and works fully manual: meter readings can come from a technician, the field app, an operator's pre-use check or a rental return. GPS is an optional layer, added machine by machine, and you can track the expensive or far-flung machines while leaving the rest manual.
Is FleetZap a fleet management system or a CMMS?
Both, with maintenance first. It is a CMMS built for equipment fleets, so it understands engine hours, odometers, telematics, job sites and rentals, which generic plant CMMS tools treat as afterthoughts. It covers the CMMS core plus the asset-management pieces fleets use most: sub-assets, location hierarchy, warranties, criticality and lifecycle cost.
How are engine hours tracked?
Where a machine's engine computer reports an hour meter, the tracker reads that number and FleetZap copies it onto the machine at each check-in. It uses the machine's own hour meter rather than estimating from ignition time, so the figure matches the dash. If an engine does not report hours, you still get position, geofences and alerts, and the hours or distance can be logged by a technician, by the operator on the daily check, in the field app, or at a rental return.
Can one machine have maintenance scheduled by hours and by date at the same time?
Yes. Each schedule counts one thing, engine hours, kilometres or miles, or days, and a machine can have several: an oil change every 250 hours and a safety inspection every 365 days, for example. Each opens its own work order when it comes due.
Does FleetZap work with the trackers we already have?
Often, yes. It works with a wide range of hardware GPS trackers and CAN-bus readers, and it connects to an existing Geotab, Samsara or Motive account. Tell High Point GPS what you have and it is confirmed before anything is installed. Setup is done for you: each tracker is linked to its machine, so your staff never handle device IDs.
How much work is it to get started, and do technicians need training?
Most teams are working the same day: add the machines or send a spreadsheet, pick preventive maintenance intervals from the procedure library, and invite the technicians. Training is minimal, because the field app runs in the phone's browser with nothing to install and scanning a machine's QR label opens everything about it.
