How Much Does Geotab Cost? Pricing, Hardware, and Subscriptions Explained
Geotab is sold through resellers, so there is no single list price. What is consistent is the structure: a device per vehicle, a monthly plan per vehicle in tiers, add-on hardware, and installation. Here is what each part is, what moves the number, and what to ask for on a quote.
Why There Is No Single Geotab Price
Geotab does not sell to fleets directly; it sells through authorized resellers, who set their own pricing and bundle their own installation and support. Two fleets with the same vehicles can pay differently depending on the reseller, the plan tier, the contract term and what is included. That is why searching for a Geotab price returns ranges rather than a number, and why the useful question is what the price is made of.
The structure, though, is the same everywhere: hardware per vehicle, a monthly subscription per vehicle, optional add-on hardware, and installation. Our own pricing page sets out how we quote those parts; this guide explains what each one is so a quote from anyone reads clearly.
The Four Parts of the Price
Hardware is the GO device, one per vehicle, either purchased up front or folded into the monthly amount. Add-on hardware is anything on the IOX port: a dash camera, driver ID, temperature sensors, a satellite module. Installation is per vehicle and varies with the vehicle — a plug-in GO device on a van is minutes; a camera with a wiring run is longer — and with whether the reseller sends a technician or the fleet installs.
The monthly subscription is where most of the cost lives over the life of the contract, and it comes in tiers. In Geotab's own naming the plans step up from basic GPS tracking through engine data and driver behaviour to the full platform with ELD and the more demanding features, and camera video is a separate monthly line. The tier decides what MyGeotab shows; the reseller decides what the tier costs.
What Moves the Number
Fleet size, because per-vehicle pricing steps down with volume. Contract length, because a three-year term is priced below month to month. The plan tier, which is the largest lever: a fleet that needs only location pays a fraction of one that needs ELD, and a fleet that adds video adds a second subscription per camera. Add-ons, each of which has a hardware cost and sometimes a monthly one. And installation, which is a one-time cost that rises with cameras and with vehicles that need a technician.
What does not move it much is which GO model you choose; the GO9 and GO9+ differ in features more than in price, and the platform is the same. The plan tier is the decision that matters.
