HOS Driver Summary: The Weekly Hours-of-Service Violation Report That Runs Itself
Every fleet with ELDs is supposed to review hours-of-service violations, and most do it by opening each driver's log. HOS Driver Summary produces the review as a report: violations by driver and type, driving and on-duty hours, and DVIR completion, for the period, ready for the safety meeting or the auditor.

The Review Nobody Has Time For
The ELD records the violations; the regulation expects the carrier to know about them and act. In practice the safety manager opens the HOS logs when something has gone wrong, and the rest of the time the violations accumulate unread. A facility audit or a compliance review then finds a pattern — the same driver over the fourteen-hour window every Thursday, a terminal where nobody takes the thirty-minute break — that the fleet could have corrected months earlier had anyone been looking.
What the Report Contains
HOS Driver Summary reads the ELD data for the period and produces, per driver: driving hours, on-duty hours, off-duty and sleeper time, each violation with its type — driving limit, duty window, break, cycle — and its date, and whether the required pre-trip and post-trip inspections were completed. It totals across the fleet and by terminal, ranks drivers by violation count, and can run on a schedule so the report is in the safety manager's inbox every Monday without anyone opening MyGeotab.
What Fleets Do With It
The weekly report is the agenda for the coaching conversation: which drivers, which violations, whether it is a scheduling problem or a driver problem. The monthly report is the safety meeting's compliance slide. The period report is what the auditor receives, and a fleet that hands over a year of weekly reviews with actions noted is a fleet whose safety management controls are visibly working, which is what the review is assessing.
Setup
Installed into the fleet's MyGeotab database and scheduled with the recipients and period the fleet wants; it reads the Drive app's HOS and DVIR records and needs nothing else. High Point GPS sets it up as part of ELD deployments for carriers in Quebec, Ontario and the northeastern US, for the Canadian and US rulesets the fleet runs.
