Compliance Data Summary: Hours of Service and Inspection Status on the Live Map

The live map shows where every truck is. It does not show that the driver in the nearest one has ninety minutes left on their fourteen-hour window, or that the truck's DVIR flagged a defect this morning that has not been signed off. The dispatcher assigns the load to the nearest truck, the driver takes it because that is the job, and the violation or the out-of-service order happens two hundred kilometres later. Compliance Data Summary is a MyGeotab add-in that puts the hours and inspection status on the map beside each vehicle.

For each vehicle on the map: the logged-in driver, their remaining driving and on-duty time under the ruleset they are running, their next required break, and whether they are approaching a limit; and the vehicle's inspection status — last DVIR, any open defects, and whether a pre-trip has been completed today. The values come from the ELD and DVIR data the Drive app already records. A vehicle with a driver near a limit or an open defect is coloured so the dispatcher sees it before opening anything.

Loads go to trucks whose drivers can legally complete them. Trucks with open defects are routed to the shop rather than to the customer. Violations that used to be discovered in the weekly HOS report are prevented at assignment. And the roadside inspection that finds a driver over hours on a load the fleet assigned that morning stops being a story the safety manager tells.

The add-in requires the fleet to be running Geotab Drive for ELD and DVIR; it reads those records and needs nothing else. High Point GPS installs it as part of ELD deployments for carriers in Quebec, Ontario and the northeastern US, configured for the Canadian and US rulesets the fleet runs.
