The High Point GPS platform is the web-based software where fleet data from GPS tracking devices gets used: live maps, trip history, reporting, maintenance alerts and administration. Day to day, it is where different people do different jobs with the same data. A dispatcher watches the live map, a safety manager reviews driver scores and camera events weekly, a maintenance manager works from engine fault alerts and service reminders, and whoever handles compliance pulls ELD, DVIR and IFTA reports, all from one login.
It is built as an open platform. A public SDK and an add-on library connect it to fuel cards, dispatch or TMS software and accounting systems, and make custom Add-Ins possible. On the hardware side, the IOX port on every GPS tracking device lets a fleet add accessories without replacing the base unit.
Most fleets start with the GPS tracking device and standard reporting, then add video safety, compliance or custom Add-Ins as needs come up. That staged approach tends to produce better adoption than turning on every module on day one. High Point GPS scopes the fleet, installs the hardware and stays on for support.

What is the difference between the GPS tracking device and the High Point GPS platform?
The GPS tracking device is the hardware that plugs into a vehicle's diagnostic port and collects location, trip and engine data. The High Point GPS platform is the web-based software where that data is displayed, reported on and acted on, through maps, rules, alerts and reports. Every High Point GPS package includes both.
Does High Point GPS make the tracking hardware and software itself?
No. The GPS tracking device and the High Point GPS platform are built on an established telematics platform. High Point GPS is the company that scopes, installs, customizes and supports that platform for fleets in Canada and the United States, including building custom tools when an off-the-shelf Add-In does not fit.
Can the High Point GPS platform connect to software we already use?
Usually, yes. The platform's public SDK and open data architecture let it connect with fuel cards, dispatch or TMS software and accounting systems. Many connections already exist as Add-Ins in the add-on library, and High Point GPS can build a custom integration when a pre-built connector does not exist yet.
