Samsara Alternatives for Canadian Fleets: A Shortlist With Sources
Samsara alternatives for Canadian fleets: Geotab through a partner, Motive, Isaac, Powerfleet and Verizon Connect, checked against Transport Canada.

What Are the Main Samsara Alternatives for Canadian Fleets?
The main Samsara alternatives for Canadian fleets are Geotab (sold and installed through partners such as High Point GPS), Motive, Isaac Instruments, Powerfleet (formerly Fleet Complete) and Verizon Connect. Each one has an ELD on Transport Canada's certified list, so the choice comes down to the vehicles you run, French-language service, who installs the hardware and how open the platform is.
This page is a shortlist, written for a fleet that is still deciding which vendors to call. High Point GPS is one of the options, as a Geotab partner, and it is described here with the same facts as the others. If you have already narrowed it down to Samsara and High Point GPS, our High Point GPS vs Samsara comparison goes through the two side by side.
What Should a Canadian Fleet Check Before Replacing Samsara?
Samsara itself covers the main Canadian requirements: Samsara Inc. has active entries on Transport Canada's certified ELD list, it runs a French Canadian website, and it installs through a network of installation partners. A fleet looks elsewhere for other reasons, and four checks apply to every vendor on this list.
First, find the exact device on Transport Canada's list of certified electronic logging devices and confirm that its status is active; the certification body keeps authority over that status. Second, ask whether contracts, training and support are available in French if your drivers or office work in French. Third, ask who installs: the vendor's staff, a certified partner, or your own mechanics. Fourth, ask how the platform connects to your other software, such as dispatch, maintenance, fuel cards or accounting.
Samsara Alternatives Compared
Each row comes from the vendor's own website and from Transport Canada's list of certified electronic logging devices, both read in October 2026. Certification status changes, so check the current entry before you sign.

Geotab Through a Partner, Such as High Point GPS
Geotab is headquartered in Oakville, Ontario. It makes the GO devices and the MyGeotab software and works through a network of partners who install, train and support fleets, so choosing Geotab also means choosing a partner. Its GO10 device, with the Geotab Drive app on Android or iOS, has active entries on Transport Canada's certified list.
High Point GPS is one of those partners: a Montreal company founded in 2013 that serves over 500 fleets in Canada and the United States, in English and French. It installs with professional installers across North America, builds custom add-ins on the open platform, and offers 3-year plans with free equipment. This route suits fleets that mix trucks, vans, equipment and trailers, or that need fleet data in other software.
Motive and Isaac Instruments
Motive, called KeepTruckin until 2022, sells one platform for ELD compliance, AI dash cams, fleet tracking, maintenance and the Motive Card for fuel and expenses. Its French Canadian site says it provides contracts, key documentation and customer support in French and English. Installation is an optional service delivered by a Motive employee or a third party, and some hardware, such as its dash cam, is designed for self-installation.
Isaac Instruments is a Quebec company based in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville that works only with trucking fleets. It supplies a tablet built for trucking, ISAAC InView AI cameras and a fully managed platform, with integrations for many TMS and fuel card providers. For a for-hire carrier running highway tractors, Isaac belongs on the shortlist, and our High Point GPS vs Isaac Instruments page compares it with a Geotab setup in detail.
Powerfleet and Verizon Connect
Powerfleet, formerly Fleet Complete, has served fleets since 2000 and now runs the brand as Powerfleet. Its platform covers GPS tracking, AI dash cams, asset trackers, and the BigRoad ELD and Inspect driver apps for compliance and inspections. It lists 24/7 customer support and has a French Canadian website. It serves transportation, courier, construction, government, oil and gas and rental fleets.
Verizon Connect runs a Canadian website with three products: Reveal for vehicle tracking, Fleet for fleet, routing and dispatch management, and Work for field service scheduling, dispatching and invoicing. Its Verizon Connect Fleet Platform ELD has active entries on Transport Canada's list. A service company that wants tracking and job management from one vendor should put it on the list.
Is Samsara Still the Right Fit for Your Fleet?
Sometimes it is. Samsara is a single vendor for gateways, AI cameras, equipment tracking and driver apps, with an open API and an app marketplace, and a fleet that wants one company accountable for all of it may not gain much by switching. An alternative makes more sense when you want a local partner to install and support the system in French, when your vehicle mix or software calls for an open platform and custom add-ins, or when your workflow is so specific to trucking that a trucking-only vendor fits better. Call two or three vendors from this list, ask the four questions above, and compare written answers.

In October 2026, Transport Canada's list of certified electronic logging devices shows active entries for Geotab (GO10), Motive, Isaac Instruments (InMetrics), Powerfleet (BigRoad ELD) and Verizon Connect, as well as Samsara. The certification body keeps authority over each status, so look up the exact device a vendor proposes before you sign a contract.
Which Samsara alternatives offer service in French?
Geotab, Motive, Isaac Instruments and Powerfleet all run French Canadian websites, and Motive states that it offers contracts, documentation and support in French and English. High Point GPS, a Montreal Geotab partner, sells, installs and supports in French and English. For any vendor, ask whether training and phone support are in French, not only the website.
